Description

We've received a lot of requests for this one, and now it's finally available!

These bolt-on necks were originally created for our popular "Illustrated" guitar series. They measure approximately 22" long, 1 1/2" wide and 1" thick at the neck with a thickness of 1 3/4" at the heel. They come with pre-drilled holes in the face for our Economy tuners (2 Left/1 Right) and can easily be drilled out to accommodate other styles of tuners.

The neck features a glued-on poplar fretboard with zero fret with a wooden string retainer. It comes fully fretted with 20 frets to a 23" scale with high-quality medium/medium nickel-silver fret wire. The frets has been end-dressed and should be ready for use, though of course you can always smooth things down even more if you prefer. The screws that we use for installation of the fretboard also double as fret position markers. Additionally, the neck has a 3" tapered heel for added strength and more surface area to mount securely to the box and the whole neck has been pre-rounded for a comfortable feel in the hand.

The exact appearance of each neck will vary depending on individual grain patterns. Some pieces may have a slight greenish hue, due to the nature of the hardwood (poplar) used.

Please Note: We have found they hold up well over time to our Folk/country Open GDG set of strings (high open G). We have not done extensive testing for heavier string gauges. If you intend to use a heavier string gauge, additional bracing may be necessary. Make sure the box you intend to use is at least 1 1/2 inches deep/thick, to accommodate the heel thickness.
